C9 Britomart Station & Track Upgrade

Project Summary

As part of the City Rail Link programme, this project transformed Waitematā (formerly Britomart) into a two-way through-station. During the latter part of 2024 and early 2025, RSB Consulting managed track access, possession planning, and project coordination across multiple engineering disciplines.

Project Detail

Across the late-2024 to early-2025 delivery window, RSB Consulting provided access management and delivery coordination during the redevelopment of Auckland’s busiest station.
Working with KiwiRail and CRL partners, RSB oversaw all track possession requests, construction sequencing, and safe working logistics for the integration of new traction, signalling, and civil infrastructure.
Responsibilities included:

• Coordinating possession windows across multiple workstreams including overhead traction, signalling, track modifications, and civil upgrades.
• Managing Christmas shutdown access (2024) for the installation of 130 m of rail and concrete slab track.
• Facilitating stakeholder communication between CRL contractors, KiwiRail, and station operations.
  This project showcased RSB Consulting’s precision in managing time-critical access and maintaining safety and delivery discipline under complex, multi-contractor conditions.
